"Exquisite Dance. So full of emotion and humanity"

— Karena, Woodford 2017

"So beautiful. It was the first time I had really understood how the dance tells the story. You explained it so beautifully and simply before the dance that it enhanced my understanding and appreciation of the dance a hundredfold."

"Thank you for sharing your beautiful dances...I have been truly captivated...there was something about the staunchness and expressiveness about your Ganesha dance that really spoke to me. I feel inspired to explore dance as a means of storytelling. The stories you have told over the course of your performances- about the importance of nature and animals and the portrayal of the feminine as not only beautiful and alluring but also strong and powerful are stories I can relate to ...Thank you for the inspiration."

“The use of Arabhi for the bhadrakali piece was perfect - it brought the Kerala touch and the niche character of "bhagavathi" as celebrated in the south-central Kerala. The tinge of Sringaram in abhinaya smeared all other bhavas in this piece  kind of gave the impression that bhagavathi was portrayed as  Yakshi, the enchantress, the aadi-Dravida form of bhagavathi. The rendering of the Chandana charchitha in Mohanam brought in new life to the ashtapadi and was sung and enacted beautifully.”

“I love watching Bindu dance. The best abhinaya I have seen.”

— Yashan, Woodford 2018

“Thank you for bringing heaven to earth. Your dance form is perfect. I watched so many performances. All artists are perfect (but) your grace stands out. Your performance and words that you weave into storytelling in the introduction are pulling all the strings to uplift people. Pure virtuosity.”

— Matarishvan, Woodford 2018

“A massive thanks to Bindu Rajendren for her soul-satisfying ‘Dance of the Divine Enchantress’ workshop. This was a big highlight for me, learning the language behind movements and the subtle additions of facial expressions. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to explore the enchanting nuances of Mohiniattam dance – the dance of Mohini – as well as connecting with the extraordinary Bindu. Dance of the celestial enchantress workshop was my favourite part of the festival.”

— Bel, Woodford 2018

“Thanks so much on your divine presence in Woodford; I was in your workshop dancing with the enchantress. I am so moved by all the mudras and movements.”

— Jen, Woodford 2018

“(Bindu) has been able to elevate Indian classical dance to another level at Woodford.”

— Pat, Woodford 2018

“Bindu Rajendren opened our eyes to the spiritual symbolism that is an integral part of every move, gesture, mudra, even in costuming of this ancient dance form. Like the Yoga Sutras, Ayurveda, Indian classical dance also has its roots in the Vedas. The talk was pure theosophy...dIvine wisdom. We were all in awe. Indian classical dance will certainly never be just another 'exotic' form of entertainment. Thank you Bindu. I am reminded of the 'Golden Stairs', to keep an 'open mind, a pure heart, a clean life, an unveiled spiritual perception, a brother/sister-liness to one's neighbour, and a constant eye on the ideal of human progression and perfection' which all ultimately cannot but lead to 'TRANSCENDENCE'. You embodied that and reminded us of how much more there is when we look deeper and beyond with an open mind and heart.”

On behalf of our Committee and Members we would like to say thank you for the exquisite presentation and dance you gave us. It was wonderful to meet you and we look forward to watching you dance again. We have had lots of wonderful feedback from all who attended, stating “we should include traditional dance more, in our evenings”. Thank you again Bindu.
